Off the Shelf

Let me just start by saying that my reading habits are a bit dramatic. I’m generally reading anywhere between three to five books going at once (not to mention numerous blog posts, podcasts, articles… you get the idea). This habit doesn’t come from me thinking that I can accomplish more using this pseudo-multitasking method, but more from the fact that I just want to read everything-especially design related everythings.

Ibaziba

I had the opportunity to go on an AIGA sponsored tour of Ziba, a portland-based creative agency, last week. Ziba looms in Portland as one of the pre-eminent design firms in stump town. While the shadow it casts is not quite as large as Wieden + Kennedy, it does more than its share to establish our sleepy little town as a leader in design and creativity.

A Texture for a Tuesday

Over the years I’ve amassed a fairly large collection of textures that I’ve either procured through my travels, the scanning of found objects or through the outright man handling of Photoshop. Most of the textures have been generated for client work I was doing at one point or through experimentation into a new process.
