I decided to take an official vacation this year. Normally I end up taking a few days at a time off, but never anything long term. As a treat to myself for coming through such a huge work year I managed to organize my project list enough that to take a full two weeks off.

I’ve picked up a stack of new books and augmented my reading list with some others I’ve accumulated during the last year. I’m planning on doing a hefty amount of reading and relaxing during my time off, as well as spending some time thinking about the progress I would like to make this coming year. My work with A List Apart will continue for the foreseeable future, and I’ve also come across some opportunities to work with the Portland chapter of AIGA on various events. Fitting everything in this year will be tough, but I am happy to be staying busy.
