I Done It Yourself Myself
Improper English aside, I recently did a set of low cost, DIY business cards for my studio, eljl, to hand out to people I meet at conferences and about anywhere else I find myself requiring a little self-promotion.
The cards themselves are made from letter-sized, recycled stock that I ran through a laser printer and then hand cut. Once they were all cut out, I edged them by hand with a rounded corner punch I picked up from a local fabric store (I only did it on three sides to give it more of a modern feel). The finished size of these little beauties are only about 2.5 inches wide by .5 inches high. While they’re not exactly a “standard” size, I really wanted to have something that was small and easy to hand out.
I think the real beauty of these cards is that 1) they are so inexpensive to manufacture and 2) I end up getting nearly 30 or 35 cards from one letter-sized sheet.
I truly love the art of self-publishing. Now, if I can just find the time to finish up the website everything will be golden.
